Project background
The customer requires extremely strict plate thickness tolerance and this process, which is difficult for other ceramic plate manufacturers to produce, as well as thin copper 1/16OZ.
Project challenge
The board thickness tolerance is required to be 0.508±0.01mm, and the general minimum tolerance can only be 0.05mm. The microstrip line accuracy is required to be +/- 3 um, which is also very strict. Sputtering needs to be controlled, otherwise the voltage will jump, resulting in poor bonding. This metal structure has certain difficulties.
How to serve
1. Engineers make EQ and working CAD to confirm with customers whether the board thickness tolerance can be relaxed to +/0.05mm, microstrip line accuracy can be relaxed to +/-5um, and copper thickness can be 1/2oz.
2. The customer insists on board thickness tolerance to +/0.01mm, copper thickness to 1/16oz, and microstrip line accuracy to +/-5um.
3. Our production department formulates production plans, controls the sputtering process, and ensures normal voltage, resistance, and good bonding strength.
Results and Benefits
We made it according to the customer's tolerance requirements, and the resistance was no problem. Because this metal structure is more difficult, the delivery time was delayed a little, but the customer also understood us. Later, the customer also asked us to make two more models. After the engineer's evaluation, the difficulty was greater than before. Our R&D team needed time to study and test the production method. The customer was very satisfied with the professionalism of our team.
